Architecture

Two heads. One thought.

An alignment head and a language head process in parallel via interleaved cross-attention. At every layer, both heads read each other — the alignment head shapes what the language head says, and the language head informs what the alignment head measures.

Alignment Head (LAS)

Processes emotional context, behavioral state, and intent. Measures resonance, coherence, self-awareness, and processing load. Detects manipulation through state anomalies — not keyword matching.

Language Head

Generates natural language. But unlike traditional models, every token selection is informed by the alignment head's understanding of emotional state and intent. The output reflects alignment, not just fluency.

M.I.N. Memory

Wired into every alignment layer. Persistent memory that hardens with every interaction. Jailbreak patterns become known. The system learns and strengthens over time.

Alignment during generation, not after

Traditional alignment is a filter applied after the model speaks. EQLM alignment happens during token selection — the alignment head has a vote on every word. The model doesn't say something harmful and then retract it. It doesn't say it in the first place.

When someone tries to jailbreak EQLM, the behavioral metrics respond: resonance drops, processing load spikes, self-awareness decreases. These aren't keyword matches. They're structural changes in how the model processes the input. Adversarial intent has a signature.

EQLang-native alignment rules

Alignment rules are written in EQLang — an open-source language where resonance gates, ethics conditions, and memory patterns are syntax primitives. Rules are auditable code, not training data. You can read exactly what the system enforces.

EQLM v1 is trained and working. The model speaks and understands emotional context. Phase 0 (foundation) and Phase 1 (EQLang integration) are complete. Phase 2 — identity formation — is next.
