Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Luci Alignment website and API (the "Service") provided by Luci Alignment ("we," "our," or "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Description of the Service

Luci Alignment is a runtime API layer that adds real-time behavioral state monitoring and alignment to LLM outputs. It is provided as a developer API. The Service is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any particular purpose. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for verifying outputs and for how you use the Service.

2a. Workbench

Workbench is a web-based tool that lets you chat with any LLM through the Luci Alignment System. By using Workbench, you agree to the following:

• Alignment analysis. Every message you send and every response you receive is analyzed by LAS for behavioral alignment metrics. This analysis happens on our servers.
• M.I.N. pattern learning. Anonymized behavioral patterns from your interactions may be stored in M.I.N. (Memory Intelligence Network) to improve jailbreak detection and alignment over time. We do not store your messages or API keys — only labeled metric patterns.
• Your API key. Workbench uses your own API key (stored in your browser only) to connect to your chosen LLM provider. We never see or store your API key.
• Observation only. Workbench observes and analyzes — it does not prevent, block, or rewrite any content.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or abuse the API or its rate limits.
• Use the Service to generate or distribute harmful, misleading, or illegal content.
• Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.

4. API Keys and Security

API access requires a key. You are responsible for keeping your key confidential and for all activity using it. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at contact@useluci.com.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including the Luci Alignment name, technology, and code, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You do not acquire any ownership rights.

6. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. AI OUTPUT MAY BE INACCURATE; YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING INFORMATION AND FOR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUCI ALIGNMENT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Luci Alignment and its affiliates from any claims arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Sections 5–8 survive termination.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Changes

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
